RASUWA, July 29: It was almost midnight on Wednesday by the time she finished household chores and went to bed. Her tired body made her fall asleep in no time, but a thunderous noise suddenly woke her up. Pokki Tamang, the local of Timure in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-2, then peeked outside the window and noticed debris of landslides tumbling down towards her house.
RASUWA, July 27: Before they could fully recover from the devastation caused by the 2015 earthquakes, yet another disaster has befallen the locals of Timure in Rasuwa district. On Wednesday night, landslides triggered by incessant rainfalls claimed nine lives in Timure of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-2, near the Nepal-China border.
RASUWA, July 15: Massive landslides in Yabru village of Naukunda Rural Municipality wreaked havoc in the settlements last year. The landslides had rendered the land unsafe for settlement. Though the residents of the village lived in temporary shelters for some days, they returned and started living there after some weeks. They were aware of the looming threat of landslides, but returned stating that they did not find any place to relocate.
RASUWA, May 20: Defence minister Ishwor Pokhrel inaugurated Mailung-Syafrubesi road, the shortest route connecting Rasuwagadi today. Pokhrel is accompanied Rabindra Adhikari, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation; and Raghubir Mahaseth, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transportation along with 24 others.
RASUWA, May 20: Departmental Team Tribuhuvan Army Club’s Khagendra Bahadur Bhat completed the run in 3 hours 49 minutes and 27 seconds to win the third Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) International Langtang Marathon for Men held in Rasuwa on Saturday.
RASUWA, May 13: An improvised explosive device (IED) was found at Zerokilo, Uttargaya rural municipality. The pressure cooker bomb wrapped with tape was found at around 11 AM according to Nepal Police.
