CHITWAN, Jan 29: Dealers of vegetables and fruits in Khairhani of eastern Chitwan on Monday collected cabbages from farmers at just Rs 3 to Rs 5 per kg. But when the same cabbages reach Kalimati Fruits and Vegetables Market in Kathmandu, their wholesale and retail prices become Rs 12 and Rs 25 per kg respectively.
DHADING, Jan 29: Sunmaya Shrestha of Nilkantha Municipality-3 who recently reached Kathmandu taking a bus from Dhadingbesi says throughout the journey she thought she would not reach her destination safely. She was horrified by the reckless driving and over speeding.

DHADING, Dec 10: Four years ago, while she was working as a maid in Kuwait, Tuk Maya Tamang of Sallebhanjyang village used to think that her life would never take any new course. She was not happy with her life but 'there was nothing much she could do'. She thought her life would not be better if she returned home. However, one day she returned home. After staying home for some time, she was not sure if she wanted to fly to Kuwait again. After remaining in dilemma for some time she finally decided to give a try to her skills and passion eight months ago. The 24-year-old, who loved rearing cattle, bought some goats and chicken. Thanks to her love and dedication, her poultry farm soon came to a form. The number of goats multiplied, too.

DHADING, Nov 19: Shuvamaya Tamang of Benighat Rural Municipality-1, Jarung, has six children but only one stays with her. One of her sons is abroad while others are in Kathmandu for their studies and jobs.
DHADING, Nov 7: Bhawani Karki, 21, did not have a sound health when she was born. Things did not improve even later. When she turned a toddler, she would fall when if she attempted to walk. She grew up with low self esteem and unfulfilled dreams, she says.
DHADING, Nov 5: On any given day, Indra Bahadur Tamang of Thakre Rural Municipality-6 of Dhading is found busy carving madals (a Nepali hand drum) at his workshop. He worked in Katmandu for a year after receiving madal-making training in the capital for three months in 1980. Later, in 1982, he opened a small madal along the Prithvi Highway. Over time, he transformed the little shop into a factory and named it Indra Madal Baja Prashodhan Udyog.
