KATHMANDU, Dec 16: In order to promote the idea of religious harmony, a silent play titled ‘Mukti’ was enacted by Abiral- The Arts Group at Hotel Himalaya, Kupandole, Lalitpur on Friday. Altogether 11 artists showcased the play portraying the fundamental roles of religious leaders in raising their voices against social malpractices performed in the name of religious faith.

KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Raat Chirnya Bhanu’ produced in association with Lok Drishti Therater and Aarambha Natya Samuha had its final staging at Shilpee Theater, Battisputali on Monday. The play, written and directed by Prabhakar Neupane, was reenacted by theater artists Prakash Sindhuliya, Sakchhi Lamsal, Prem Poudel, Pralhad Kharel and Prabhat Niraula among others while Ramesh Dahal, Chandani Shahi, Basudev Khanal, Radha Shrestha, Manas Raj, Pushparaj Awasthi, Rajan Bhujel, Melina Gurung, Shreya Bhusal, Birendra Khati, and Shriman Neupane could be seen in supporting roles.

KATHMANDU, Dec4: The opening ceremony of the 10th Asia For Animals Conference was held on Monday at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Durbar Marg. The Asia for Animals Coalition brought together 23 of the world’s leading animal welfare organizations who shared major focus on improving conditions for animals in Asia.

With HIV detected in Nepal in1988, the disease brought myriad misconceptions with its first diagnosis. Because of the lack of research, medication and awareness, HIV was considered a highly communicable disease which is spread through physical touch or external agents. After the completion of his SLC, Dipendra Shahi Thakuri travelled to Kathmandu with a hope of making a mark in the field of dancing. He had not informed his family about his plans when he left his hometown. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, Dipendra joined Public Youth Campus for his higher secondary education and took on many jobs to earn his living and to continue his dancing classes.

Having graduated from Jawaharlal University and trained from National Defense Academy in Pune and Indian Military Academy, Bed Upreti is an experienced pilot as well as the CEO of Aircraft Museum, Sinamangal. His aviation journey began from a scholarship that he received while serving as a second lieutenant. He then completed the Pilots training from Indian Air Force. In 1992, Bed received the Commercial Pilot License from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), USA. He then flew for Nepal Army for 12 years and worked for Necon air for eight years until 2004. He further worked for Kingfisher Airlines from 2004 to 2012. An author of over a dozen books, including ‘Everest From The Air’, ‘360 Degree Everest From A Pilot’s Eye View’, Bed is currently an instructor and examiner pilot with Wings Abadi (Lion Air) in Indonesia.

Making his debut as a cricketer in 2006, Gyanendra Malla marked a new beginning in Nepali cricket. Even though he aspired to become an army officer while growing up, the invigorating passion for cricket led his way to enter the national cricket team. He was appointed the vice-captain of Nepal National Cricket Team in 2011 and is currently the Chairperson of Kathmandu Cricket Training Center established in 2008. Under his captaincy, Gyanendra has proudly represented Nepal in numerous national and international matches and bagged prestigious awards for the country.
