Ilam, Dec 7: CPN- UML senior leader Subash chandra Nemwang and Jhala Nath Khanal cast thier votes in Ilam. Nemwang, who is also ex-speaker of Parliamentary Assembly cast his vote in Balmindir polling center in district headquarter Ilam. Nemwang is contesting from Ilam-2.
ILAM, Dec 3: Preparations are underway to send election materials to designated voting centers in Ilam for the election on December 7. “We are extremely busy to transport election materials,” Prem Kumar Kafle, district election officer said adding that by tomorrow (Monday), all voting centers would have the election materials. ILAM, Nov 27: Ballot boxes from several polling booths of Panchthar and Taplejung districts have already been brought to the center. However, it might take one more day for the security forces to bring the boxes from remote zones.
ILAM, Nov 11: After registering his candidacy on November 2, former speaker of parliament Subas Chandra Nembang headed straight to ashram of Kirat religious leader Aatma Nanda Lingden in Larumba (Mangsebung Rural Municipality) of Ilam district. He received blessings from the guru, which marked the beginning of his election campaign.
ILAM, Nov 9: Candidate of then CPN (Maoist) Bishwadip Lingden defeated CPN-UML leader K P Sharma Oli when the slogans of identity politics raised by the Maoists held sway all across the villages back during the first Constituent Assembly polls in 2008. Lingden's success in defeating Oli in Jhapa by a wide margin of over 5,000 votes drew national attention.

A team of 10 European businessmen were in a three-week visit to Ilam and Dhankuta districts in eastern Nepal to order tea for next year.

With the arrival of Tihar, which is considered a festival of lights and flowers, the couple is busy selling marigold and globe-amaranth they grew in their farm.
