SIRAHA, July 12: A man who was trapped in the tree lying in the middle of the Kamala river situated at Bandipur of Karjanha Municipality-2 in Siraha district has been rescued twelve hours after he found himself in a trap.
SIRAHA, July 11: Family members of Pabita Sadaya of Balakawa village of Golbazar Municipality–11 called an ambulance after she started having labor pain on Wednesday morning. The ambulance did move on time but could not reach the village. Citing flood on Mainbatti river, it waited for the patient far away. The ambulance driver called Pabita’s family and asked the needy party to get to the ambulance on their own.

SIRAHA, April 27: Twenty-year-old Kanchan Mandal (Khatbe) of Kalyanpur municipality-8 Aurang breathed her last while undergoing treatment for burns at Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital, Sankhu on Friday evening. Before she died she said that she had been burnt alive by her husband and mother-in-law.

She was straight away told to have a video x-ray, blood culture, urine and stool tests done. This cost her a lot. After that, she was handed a long list of medicines. She thought that buying the medication would not be expensive as the government provides 70 kinds of essential drugs for free. More so, for a pregnant woman.
LAHAN, March 18: CK Raut-led Alliance for Independent Madhes (AIM), which recently renounced the demand for secession, has unanimously endorsed an 11-point agreement signed with the government indicating that it would join the mainstream politics. The outfit’s two-day gathering started in Lahan on Sunday.

SIRAHA, March 16: On March 10, a team from the District Police Office (DPO), Siraha, arrested a truck with an Indian number plate from a go-down near the Customs Office of Madar Bazar of Siraha-17. The truck (Br 06 G 2612) was found carrying goods with no receipts. Though police were successful in seizing the truck, the smuggler and the driver ran away.
