Pokhara’s Bus Park to be upgraded

POKHARA, Dec 26: Pokhara’s old bus park located near Rastra Bank Chowk is being upgraded to attract tourists. The government will soon begin upgrading the ‘tourist bus park’, according to Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari. The Department of Tourism under the ministry took the initiative to upgrade the bus park that spreads across 18 ropanis of land. The land belongs to Pokhara Valley Town Development Committee and was gathering dust and garbage since long.

While some go for boating, most of them enjoy the beauty of the lake by walking on the foot trail around it. Despite its importance, the trail around the lake remains utterly neglected. It is filthy and dilapidated. Locals put the blame on the lack of action from concerned authorities as well as the visitors.

During the favorable season trekking trails of the country are jam-packed. September to November is considered as the best season for trekking. POKHARA, Dec 4: After nearly two decades runway of the Jomsom Airport is being repaired. The runway was in dire need of repairs for a long time now. According to Pushparaj Neupane, an engineer with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the repair project worth Rs 800 million has already kicked off. “The work of erecting fences around the airport is almost over. Blacktopping of the runway and construction of parking area will follow soon,” he said.
