The medicines which she needed to take daily were running out of stock and all of a sudden everyone were told to follow the stay-home order. However, now she is relieved thanks to the initiation taken by the local government.
POKHARA, April 7: It has come to the fore that officials at Pokhara Hospital and Research Center kept mum over an efficient machine at the hospital which is capable of testing 140 samples for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19). It has been speculated that they acted ignorant over the machine in order to avoid possible hassles on their way if it was revealed that 'the machine is in working condition'.
POKHARA, March 29: The District Administration Office of Mustang district sent 58 foreign tourists to Kathmandu on Saturday. But 10 foreign tourists who came in contact with the government officials in the district declined to go back to Kathmandu. They are currently staying in hotels in the district.
POKHARA, March 14: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is planning to expand its fuel storage capacity at the Gagangaunda depot. According to the officials of the NOC, the current storage at the depot is not able to meet the demand and needs to be expanded to fulfill the current market demand.
POKHARA, March 11: Health officials of Gandaki Province have said that they have upped monitoring in settlements near project sites where Chinese nationals are working to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
POKHARA, March 5: Health workers in Pokhara have reported the lack of infrastructures to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus. Being a tourist city, Pokhara is considered a sensitive zone for the contagious diseases. According to health workers, isolation wards need to be set up as a precautionary measure, but there are not enough isolation wards.
POKHARA, Mar 2: Hit hard by the impact of coronavirus outbreak, local entrepreneurs have suggested to the government to take needful measures to prevent further slide in their business. They have even warned of protest if the government failed to address to their concerns on time.
POKHARA, Feb 25: Passengers in the Pokhara-Kathmandu route are flying for Rs 2,800 per person which earlier used to cost up to Rs 5,050. Earlier, the passengers could not get the tickets easily and used to have complaints that the tickets were not available for cheaper price in the route.
