PM Oli himself will bear entire expenses for his health check-up in Singapore: Minister Baskota

Minister for Communication and Information Technology and the Government Spokesperson, Gokul Baskota has said that the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself will bear all the expenses during his health treatment in Singapore. Minister Baskota said so while responding to a media query at a press conference held at Singha Durbar. PM Oli, who left home for Singapore on Friday evening, is scheduled for a follow up with the doctor there.

Ex-Crown Princess Himani Shah announces to establish disaster relief fund 

Former Crown Princess Himani Shah has announced to set up a disaster relief fund to help the victims of natural disasters. Himani, who is also president of Himani Trust, made the announcement during a press conference in the capital on Sunday. She said that the fund will be utilized to provide assistance to flood and landslide-hit people across the country.Himani also unveiled a book entitled "SandeshSangraha", the compilation of speeches delivered by former king and her father-in-law Gyanendra Shah on several occasions in the past.

Parliamentary sub-committee formed to monitor SAG preparations

A sub-committee has been formed under the parliamentary committee of Education and Health to monitor the upcoming 13th South Asian Games (SAG). The meeting of the committee held on Sunday decided to form the 5-members sub-panel under the leadership of Jeevan Ram Shrestha, according to committee chair Jayapuri Gharti.

Tax compulsory: Finance Minister Dr Khatiwada

Minister for Finance, Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada has said the government was active to intensify the pace of development by ensuring social security to the citizens by collecting tax through a healthy tax administration. In his address to a management seminar organised by the Inland Revenue Department here today, he said efforts for improvements were going on in terms of making the tax system more systematic. He assured that there was no need for business community to panic from the improvements in tax system.

Heavy rainfall forecast for next three days

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said most parts of the country will witness heavy rainfall for the next three days. The axis of monsoon trough moving to the southern belt of the country and the wind filled with water vapor generated from the Bay of Bengal and the local wind likely to bring the rainfall across the country, said the Division by issuing a weather bulletin on Sunday.

Texas police seek clues to explain Walmart shooting that killed 20

Police and FBI investigators in Texas searched for clues on Sunday to explain what drove a young gunman from the Dallas area to kill 20 people at a Walmart store hundreds of miles away in the border city of El Paso.
