KATHMANDU, Dec 1: A two-day Asia Pacific Summit 2018 is going to conclude later today issuing the 25-point Kathmandu Declaration for peace and cooperation.  

Today’s sessions are focused on the theme of tackling climate change, the role of media in addressing the critical challenges of our time, peace initiatives and peace projects around the world. 

Co-chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal is now addressing the summit being held at Hyatt Regency hotel in the capital.

The speakers shared their views on the role of media, parliamentarians, faith-based organizations and civil society in addressing critical challenges before the world, on Saturday.

The event was inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Saturday amid the presence of special guests from countries across the Asia Pacific region.

According to Universal Peace Federation (UPF), the organizer, the Summit has brought together over 1,500 participants from 45 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. A number of high-profile political leaders including current and former heads of state and government have been taking part in the event.
