ASI held with Rs 3,000 bribe in Rupandehi

KATHMANDU, July 22: The anti-graft team deployed from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority(CIAA) on Sunday arrested an assistant Sub Inspector(ASI) with Rs 3,500 bribe in Rupandehi district.

The arrestee Prem Kumar Thapa, an assistant Sub Inspector working in Area Police located at Bagaha in Rupandehi district, had accepted Rs 3,000 bribe from hardware traders promising them to facilitate their trade despite legal hurdles.

The anti-graft team arrested Thapa from the restaurant located at Omasatiya Rural Municipality-4 of Rupandehi district with the money he took in bribe acting on a tip-off, according to CIAA spokesperson Pradip Kumar Koirala.
