KATHMANDU, August 15: World’s top offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin is set to feature for Worcestershire in English County cricket. He had been left out of India’s one-day team for the remainder of the Sri Lanka tour. Worcestershire is currently placed second in division two of the county championships. This will be Ashwin's first stint in county cricket.
India’s test match specialist Cheteswar Pujara also featured for Nottinghamshire early in the season. He will rejoin them after the completing the test series in Sri Lanka which India won 3-0. Ashwin's team-mate left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja is also in talks with several counties but has not been confirmed yet.

Ashwin will play for Worcestershire till the end of the season if he will be omitted from India's next ODI assignment against Australia starting on September 17. Else, he will only play a couple of four-day matches before rejoining the Indian ODI squad.
