KATHMANDU, March 20: The local governments have started making preparations for this year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) set to commence from April 22.

The provincial government has formed a five-member examination management committee in all seven provinces for the management and conduction of SEE, set to be held from April 22 till May 3.

According to Chairman Mahashram Sharma of the National Examination Board (NEB), as many as 414,481 students will be attending the SEE exams at 2,027 examination centers across the country. He said that the board has already made the first amendment to the National Examination Board Rules 2076 to give the responsibility of management and conduction of the examination to the Provincial Examination Committees.

“The SEE examination will be conducted and managed as per the new system," Sharma said. “The way of publishing all the results at once will be stopped. The dates of publishing the exam results in all seven provinces will be different this time. The NEB will prepare and publish the results after the provinces prepare and send the results to the board. The National Examination Board is committed to decentralizing SEE,” he added.

Furthermore, Chairman Sharma said that the board is currently printing the question papers. "SEE will be held in a school in Japan for the first time this year," Sharma said. “The question paper will be sent via email to a school in Japan where 19 students will be taking their SEE,” he said.
