It will be easier for local governments to work if there is a stable federal govt: Mayor Shah

KATHMANDU, March 29: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah has said that it will be difficult for the local governments to work if the federal government is not stable.

KATHMANDU, March 29: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah has said that it will be difficult for the local governments to work if the federal government is not stable.


Mayor Shah made the remarks while addressing the judicial conference that started on Wednesday under the auspices of the KMC.He also said that the government should make it clear that the local municipality is in the municipality. He said, "Justice should be served in your own municipality so that people do not need to walk for 11 days to come to Kathmandu for justice."

Mayor Shah also said that the work of Deputy Mayor is greater than that of Mayor even as it comes after the mayor in terms of hierarchy.


More than 400 deputy chiefs and members of the judicial committee from all over the country are attending the conference, which will last till Thursday. Four working papers related to the Judicial Committee will be presented in the conference and the Kathmandu Manifesto is also scheduled to be released after the conclusion of the conference.
