Arthur Gunn named runner up on ‘American Idol’

KATHMANDU, May 18: Dibesh Pokhrel, stage name Arthur Gunn, was named the runner up on ABC’s “American Idol” on Sunday.

The singer, 22, made it to the top 5 of the program, and host Ryan Seacrest revealed that he had made it to top 2 of American Idol. He had performed “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” by CCR in the finale.

According to The Wichita Eagle, Judge Luke Bryan, a cheerleader of Gunn’s from the start, sang his praises again on Sunday. “You’re a star,” he said. “You’re authentic. If there are any more like you in Kathmandu, please get on the phone and call them and tell them to come out next year.”

Dibesh Pokharel was born in Kathmandu, Nepal, and moved to Wichita six years ago. He was at the ”American Idol” auditions that rolled through Wichita last September.

Just Sam was announced winner of American Idol by host Ryan Seacrest . Sam was declared the 2020 season's champion after garnering the most real-time votes during Sunday night's finale.
