POKHARA, Oct 29: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal said that there is no possibility to hold an ‘early election’.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) in Pokhara on Friday, Nepal said that it will be better if the elections of the local, provincial, and the House of Representatives (HoR) are held simultaneously.

Nepal, however, said that they have not discussed it among coalition partners about holding local, provincial, and parliamentary elections together. “It is expensive to hold one election after another. The expenses can be minimized if the elections are held at once. There is a need to hold a discussion among party members and the coalition partners on the matter,” Nepal said.

Chairman Nepal also said that the current five-party alliance would continue till the election. He, however, clarified that they do not hesitate to contest the elections alone if other parties do not share the same views. “We have decided to maintain the coalition till the upcoming election. It will not matter if the coalition remains as it is by then. The election will be contested by forming a coalition if everyone agrees. If not, we will not hesitate to move forward alone,” he further said.

Stating that the CPN (Unified Socialist) will not unite with the CPN (Maoist Center), Nepal said that he will strengthen the party before the election and move forward. He also said that CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli will come to know of the party’s accomplishments after they move ahead with the elections by forming a coalition. “The arrogant faction will see our accomplishments after the election,” he added.
