SARLAHI, March 23: Tribhuvan Army Club has reached to the quarterfinals of Rajarshi Janak Cup Football Tournament defeating Saraswati Youth Club 4-0 on Thursday.
In the group stage match played in Bagmati of Sarlahi, Jaspin Karki netted twice for Army while Tanka Basnet and Rajib Gurung added one goal each.

Following a goalless draw in the first half, Army resorted to offensive style of play and broke the deadlock in the 50th minute through Tanka. Jaspin made it 2-0 for Army five minutes later. Rajib struck the third in the 69th and Jaspin killed the game in the stoppage time with his second individual goal. Japsin was declared the-man-of-the-match and was rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 5000.
Manang Marsyangdi Club will take on Boys Union on Friday.
Earlier in the opening match of the tournament on Wednesday, Himalayan Sherpa Club had overcome the challenge of CMG Club Sankata 2-1 to book place in the last eight.
The tournament that will conclude on March 29 has featured eight domestic clubs including Army, Boys Union, Armed Police Club (APF), Sankata, Manang, Himalayan Sherpa, Saraswati and Jawalakhel Youth Club. The champion of the tournament organized by he District Sports Development Committee, Sarlahi, will win a purse of Rs 400,000 while the runner up will bag Rs 200,000.
