KATHMANDU, March 12: Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri visited Tarai-Madhes districts of Sarlahi, Saptari and Dhanusha on Sunday.
According to Nepal Army's Directorate of Public Relation, Army chief Chhetri visited Madhes districts in the course of monitoring Ranasher Battalion in Sarlahi district, Amaha Post of Forest and Ecology Battalion in Saptari and Gorakhnath Battalion in Dhanusha.
The Nepal Army has been planning to upgrade the battalions and posts in Madhes districts. During the visit, Army Chief Chhetri inaugurated a family quarters at the Ranasher Battalion in Sarlahi. Chhetri is scheduled to return Kathmandu on Monday.
Chhetri's visit right after the Saptari incident is considered as meaningful.
