China imposes additional tariffs in response to U.S. duties on steel, aluminum

China has slapped extra tariffs of up to 25 percent on 128 U.S. products including frozen pork, as well as on wine and certain fruits and nuts, in response to U.S. duties on imports of aluminum and steel. 

Irrigation canal construction to irrigate 2000 hectare land

Construction works of two irrigation canal projects in Kapilvastu district have been started. Once completed in 2019, the canals will help to irrigate 2000 hectare land. 

Without budget, 22 projects in limbo in Dhankuta

In lack of timely budget disbursement from the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, 22 multi-year projects are in limbo in Dhankuta.  The projects, between Rs. 800,000 to Rs. 3 million include 12 schools, six community buildings, three parks and a temple.

Residents of Tipada at Badimalika Municipality-5 in Bajura have blocked the Sanfe-Martadi Highway citing that they were yet to receive compensation of the land the government acquired for road expansion.
