KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud has said that the family members of 115 Nepali nationals, who joined the Russian army, have applied for government assistance to rescue them.
Speaking at a program held in Kanchanpur on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Saud said that the families of those who have reached Russia and joined the army there have applied to the Department of the Consular Services under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the necessary assistance.

“Until now, applications for the rescue of 115 people have been received from their families at the consular department,” he said. “The Russian government has said that 10 people have died so far. We have requested them to return those who were admitted to the Russian army, pay homage to the deceased's body and relief to their family.”
Minister Saud made it clear that the government has no policy of sending Nepali nationals to Russia for any work or to join the army.
