APF wins Int’l Mountain Cross Country Race

POKHARA, Oct 17: Departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) Club has won the Nepal Pokhara International Mountain Cross Country Competition on Wednesday. 

APF’s Santosh Bikram Bista, Ganesh Khatri and Indrakala Nemwang took 4 hours, 17 minutes and 22 seconds to complete the 22 km race, 19 km cycling and 1.2 km boating to win the title. 

Gorilla Trail Team finished as the runner-up completing the distance 1minute and 1 second behind APF. The team took four hours, 18 minutes and 23 seconds to complete the race. Gorilla’s team comprised of Durga Raj Budha, Rasila Tamang and Damodar Budha Magar. 

The race started from Barahi Chowk’s sports ground located at the height of 1,341 meters of Mattikhan Resort to Fewa Taal and ended at the starting point again. 

Guest team Kinetic Team of China finished third taking 4 hours, 24 minutes and 33 seconds to complete the distance. The team included Chen Ijhen, Pang Ui Jhu and Lai Yu Jun. 

In individual category, Hang Ji completed the race in three hours, 39 minutes and 27 seconds to win the title, while Hang Siyan Fai finished second with the timing of 3 hours and 50 minutes. Likewise, Haw Uwan Wen became third timing 4 hours 1minute. 

A 26-member team from China came to Nepal to contest in the race who participated in three-team events and individual categories. 

Likewise, 22 teams were formed by 66 Nepali players.
