RUKUM, May 27: A rescue team of the Armed Police Force (APF) has started search operation in Bheri River in the West Rukum to find whereabouts of the three youths missing in the River since four days ago.


On Saturday, a group of Dalit youths were attacked by locals of Chaurajahari Municipality-8. They [youths] were pelted with stones and chased away as they fled for their life. 


In the incident, three youths had died, while three others are still missing as they reportedly jumped into the river to save their life. More than a dozen other youths sustained injuries in the incident.

Those missing have been identified as Sanju BK, Gobinda Shahi and Lokendra Sunar.


The dead bodies of Nabaraj BK, Tikaram Sunar and Ganesh Budha have already been found in the Bheri River.


A team of four APF personnel is carrying out search operation of the missing youths.


Meanwhile, Nepal Police have arrested 12 people for investigation in connection with the incident. A case has already been filed against 20 locals of Chaurajahari Municipality-8.


Earlier on Tuesday, the government has formed a five-member probe committee led by Under Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs to probe into the incident and recommend action against those involved in this heinous crime.
