KATHMANDU, April 15: The Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has said the organization is working dedicatedly in the area of peace and security to realize the government vision for a ‘prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali’. At a press meet here today, it said it has been cooperating with the three-tier government for the development of the nation.


Inspector General of APF Shailendra Khanal said border security has been strengthened for the cause of nation and people. “The APF is playing its role needed to be undertaken in advancing the government slogan for a prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali.” As the APF chief said it has banned the sale and purchase of alcohol and tobacco products in all its units. The APF has 30 work procedures to make the organization prompt and efficient.

Employees’ appointments and promotions are taking place as per its act and rules. The APF is working with dedication in disaster management and border security issues. It is moving ahead by amending and revising the APF Act -2055 BS as per the need of time. The organization has reached all 77 districts with permanent offices in 56 districts so far. It has established 11 schools and built 36 battalions. Similarly, it observes Bhadra 6 every year in the Nepali calendar as 'IGP Blood Donation Day' as per the home administration improvement action plan.


The APF has decided to withdraw the provision of deducting 150 dollars from the remunerations of those police employees deputed in the United Nations Peace Keeping Missions. It took departmental action against 548 police employees in 2075 BS alone. The organization achieved 236 various sports medals in 2075 BS. Likewise, an ICU unit has been set up at the APF Hospital since 2075 BS and has planned to extend its health services in all seven provinces in the future. As the APF chief said, the organization has adopted the policy of zero tolerance against unprofessional conducts also bearing in mind the importance of economic transparency.


So far 25 units, out of 28 damaged by the 2015 April earthquake, have been rebuilt at the cost of Rs 427.2 million. It has so far conducted the Nepal-India border security meetings for the 60th time and holds 12 Nepal-China border security meetings. In 2075 BS, it arrested 30 people on the charge of their involvement in human trafficking. It collected revenue of Rs 337 million from smuggling. Besides, 161 help desks have been set for border security. It is launching the Mobile Apps from today to inform them about the organization. RSS
