Apex IT Club of Apex College organized a three-day inter-college e-gaming event ‘Apex Gamers Connect 2019’ from June 28 to June 30.

According to a press statement released by Apex College, the event was organized with a vision of providing a proper platform for the rising number of e-gamers in Nepal. And the slogan for the event was “Unleash your gaming spirit”, the biggest inter-college e-gaming event in Nepal.

The event was conducted in the premises of Apex College itself and included an Inter-College DOTA 2 tournament and an Intra-College FIFA 19 tournament.

It added that the Inter-College DOTA 2 tournament had 12 participating teams, each team representing their respective colleges consisting of colleges like Moonlight Higher Secondary School, Carribbean College, DAV College, ISMT College, Lord Buddha Education Foundation, Uniglobe College, Islington College, NCIT, The British College, Orient College, Ace College and Apex College.

The initial rounds were played on the league-cum-knockout basis with eight teams qualifying from a total of four groups. The final was played between ISMT and Caribbean College, with the latter taking away the title of second Inter-College DOTA 2 champions along with a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

Along with the winners, further prizes were given out for best supporter, best coach, best game start, tournament mvp, crowd favorite and best play of the tournament in DOTA 2. These prizes were given out to Kiran Thakali from Caribbean College, Surya Sharma from The British College, Apex College, Sushant Darji from Caribbean College, Avinav Shakya from NCIT and ISMT College respectively.

FIFA 19 tournament this year’s Apex Gamers Connect was an Intra-College competition and thus limited to the students inside the Apex College only. However, participation was overwhelming. With a total of 70 students competing, Shreyan Vaidya came out as the winner in the Male (singles) category, whereas Anisha Bajracharya bagged the top prize in the Female category. Similarly, in the doubles category, Ayush Bhattachan and Dasu Bajracharya came out as the winners.
