Another injured protestor dies, death toll in Balkumari incident reaches two

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The death toll in the Balkumari incident in the Gwarko area in Lalitpur has reached two, with another injured succumbing to his injuries.

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The death toll in the Balkumari incident in the Gwarko area in Lalitpur has reached two, with another injured succumbing to his injuries. 


The victim has been identified as Birendra Shahi of Doti. He died while undergoing treatment at the ICU in Patan hospital, police said.

Earlier, Sujan Raut, 23, who was taken to Kist Hospital in Imadol for treatment after receiving injury in the course of clash, breathed his last in the course of treatment. He originally hails from Dailekh. Sources said his chest has some bruises, but no sign of bullet injury.


Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kuber Kadayat confirmed the death of Birendra Shahi. He succumbed to injuries of police firing while undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital.


A group of youths set ablaze the vehicle of Minister Jwala in fit of anger for not being allowed to fill the application form of the Employment Permit System (EPS) today, said DIG Kadayat.
