KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Rajendra Pandey has said the controversial video that was doing the rounds in social media was an animated video and that it was spread to create confusion among people.
Addressing the Province Assembly meeting on Thursday, Chief Minister Pandey said he has never said that the budget should not be allocated in the wards where his party’s committee was yet to be expanded.
In the second province assembly meeting held on Thursday in the absence of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, Chief Minister Pandey asked UML lawmakers absent in the meeting to listen to his answer through social media.

At Wednesday's meeting of the Provincial Assembly, leader of the main opposition party and former Chief Minister Dormani Poudel had sought an answer from the Chief Minister Pandey on the issue. In another meeting held on Thursday morning, former minister Keshav Raj Pandey said that his party’s demand was not met and wanted answers to the question raised by the CPN- UML before the parliament convenes.
The meeting, which was adjourned indefinitely by Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha, resumed four hours later. None of the UML members were present in the meeting saying that their provincial assembly members had left Hetauda after the meeting was put off indefinitely.
During the meeting on Wednesday, former Chief Minister Poudel had said that the newly-formed province government had tarnished the image of the Province in such a way that everyone felt ashamed to be a resident of the province.
Poudel also accused Chief Minister Pandey of increasing the number of ministries from seven to 14 for the sake of consolidating power. He also accused Pandey of saying that the government will not allocate a budget in places where there party committee was yet to be expanded by his party.
