Anil was the first choice player in the sixth matches on Friday. According to reliable information from London, Aldridge and Gurung played up front and immediately caused Maybury defense problems. Gurung, who has a short built has played in World Cup qualifiers for Nepal, showed a good touch, laying off the ball well with his head and linking up the play well.
Gurung played for the full time and scored his first goal two minutes before half time off Aldridge pass to give Woking a 2-1 lead in the first half. Earlier, Parri had given a 1-0 lead to Maybury before Aldridge leveled the match in the 19th minute. Gurung widened the advantage for Woking with his second goal -- a firm downward header from close range after the ball had been whipped in from the right.
Woking´s killed the match in the 85th minute with Topham´s long-range shot finding its way into the net past a very stationary opposition keeper.
Gurung, who is in Britain to try his luck in the English football, has earlier played two matches for Woking and scored a goal in the inaugural match in his debut. However, Woking lost the match 2-1. He was fielded in the second half in both of the matches.
Impressed with Gurung´s performance, manager of the Woking and the former player of the Manchester United Graham Baker has assigned him with jersey no 10.
Gurung is the product of Sahara Club Pokhara and was associated with the New Road Team (NRT) before he left for Woking, a non league playing reserved team of Chelsea.
