ANFA increases salary of national football players to Rs 30,000 from Rs 18,000

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has increased the salary of national football players.


ANFA Spokesperson Suresh Shah said that the working committee meeting held on Tuesday decided to increase the salary of the national football players.

The national players were receiving a monthly salary of Rs 18,000 till now. Shah said that the meeting decided to increase the salary of the players from Rs 18,000 to Rs 30,000 per month.


Similarly, the working committee meeting also decided that the monthly salary of Kiran Rai, General Secretary of ANFA, will be US$ 2,000 (over Rs 260,000).


The meeting started at 10:45 AM on Tuesday. The meeting, which lasted till night, was postponed to Thursday morning. Spokesperson Shah said that the meeting will continue on Thursday due to the final of the SAFF Championship on Wednesday.
