Amid rising COVID-19 cases, Kaski district administration issues prohibition order for five days

KASKI, Aug 18: The district administration in Kaski has issued a five-day prohibitory order keeping in mind the rising COVID-19 cases in the district in recent days.

A meeting of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee held earlier today decided to issue a prohibitory order from today midnight. The prohibitory order will remain in place until the midnight of August 23.

Chief District Officer Gyan Prasad Dhakal told Republica that all shops but groceries and pharmacies will remain closed during the period. Food stores, vegetable and dairy shops will be allowed to operate from 5AM to 8AM and 5PM to 8PM every day.

People will be barred from coming out of their homes while the district administration will only provide passes to health workers, media personnel and those working for essential services. Government offices and financial institutions including banks will remain closed during the prohibitory order. Ambulances, hearses and fire extinguishers will be allowed to operate without any hassles.  Seminars, conferences, cultural functions and assemblies are restricted owing to the risk of the spread of coronavirus. All academic institutions including schools, universities and campuses are closed.  

Cinema halls, party venues, shopping centers, fun parks, stadiums, sporting venues, swimming pools, and beauty parlors are asked to remain closed. Hotels and restaurants are also asked to remain closed. However, construction sites and industries can remain open by following COVID-19 protocols.
