According to Prime Minister’s Press Advisor Surya Thapa, he along with Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal and Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai tested negative for the virus in a recent PCR test conducted for the COVID-19. “The test result of the contact tracing of our family members has also come out negative. We have been able to conquer COVID-19 in less than seven days [of the infection],” said Thapa.

Thapa, Rimal and Bhattarai were tested positive for the COVID-19 along with a number of other staff including 74 security personnel deployed at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar a week ago. While the prime minister's key aides stayed in home isolation, all the security personnel deployed there were replaced after majority of them were tested positive for the virus.
