All set for 11th National Children Theater Festival 2020

The 'Eleventh National Children Theater Festival 2020' is set to begin from February 5. Shailee Theater and Russian Center of Science and Culture are jointly organizing the 8-day long national celebration of play as per a press statement released by Shailee Theater.

It added a total of 16 scripts depicting child psychology have been finalized for the competition in the festival. Meanwhile, on the opening day play 'Sunaulo Maachha' by shailee Theater, a non competitive play will be staged. On second day, Rarahill Memorial School's ‘Karesha Concert' , Genuine School's 'Niskaasan' and RIMS' 'Jhagda' will be performed.

On third day, the organizer will hold an open space performance and talk show at the premises of Shailee Theatre, Ratopool. On the fourth day, three plays will be performed - Creative Academy's 'Aanamayan', Pragya Sadan School's 'Dar' and Binayek School's 'Kaada Ki Fhul'. In the same way, on the next day, Deepjyoti Boarding School's 'Bigreyko Birkhey', Reliance School's 'Drug Abuse' and Samten Memorial School's 'Garibko Mrigatrisna' will be staged.

On February 10 four plays will be staged – World School's 'Kati Padis?', Brihaspati Vidya Sadan's 'A Ka 1'. Liverpool School's 'Tika' and Tara Sadan English School's 'Brinda'. On the next day, Golden Sunghava School, Bright Zone International School and Ambassador Academy will stage 'Daddy Versus Mom', 'Bahula KaajiKo Sapana' and 'Saacho Bolnu Parcha' respectively.

The winners will be announced on the closing ceremony scheduled on February 12 along with prize distribution program. According to the Subash Subedi, festival manager, this year's festival is going to be more interesting and children-friendly with a lot of games, storytelling, celebrity Q&As, magic shows giving the impression of an actual festival. The statement quoted him saying, "This festival provides a platform for children to show their acting skills in various plays, other such events will provide children from audience side to showcase themselves in front of mass audience."

The best Child Male/Female Actors will receive Rs 7,000 each, whereas the Best Direction and Best Play each will bag Rs 5,000. Similarly, Shailee Public Choice Award and Best Emerging Child Actor each are to be feted with Rs 3,000 as prizes. In the 8-day long festival, around 350 students are going to perform on the stage, while 500 other students will show their talents in various other events. The organizer has expected a footfall of around 6,000 visitors for the event from various schools, organizations, parents and guardians as well as theatre enthusiasts.
