All political appointments by previous govt. annulled

KATHMANDU, July 4: The meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to annul all political appointments made by the then government after the election code of conduct was introduced for the House of Representatives and National Assembly elections 2074. 

The cabinet that met at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar late this evening cancelled all the appointments made after August 30, 2017 to various ministries, corporations, councils, board and organised institutions, according to government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota. 

The present government was formed on February 15, 2018. 

Likewise, the meeting decided to withdraw the National Medical Education Bill currently under consideration at the House of Representatives, and re-table it. A nine-member team has also been formed in order to hold dialogue for signing of the protocol to the Trade and Transit Treaty with China. 

The meeting also decided to make it obligatory for the office bearers at local level, district coordination committee and provincial governments to submit property details. Information about the property details would be recorded. 

The imminent visit of Minister of State for Finance and Planning of Province No 2 to the USA was approved by the Cabinet. A decision was taken to increase the ration and financial facilities to the prisoners by amending clause 3 of the prison regulations 2020. 

It also approved the military service (first amendment) regulations and land revenue (seventh amendment) regulations, 2075 and decided to facilitate the exchange of diplomatic and government passport between Nepal and Myanmar. 

The post and structure of the bodies under the Finance Ministry and Ministry of Information in the federal level has been approved. The government also increased the ceiling of deposit security.  RSS
