TULSHIPUR, Jan 15: The crusher plants have been shut down in Dang as the Ministry of Home Affairs ordered the immediate closure of illegal crushers operating against the norms. On January 4, the ministry issued an instruction and on January 5, the District Administration Office, Dang, issued a public notice and instructed to close all the crusher plants in the district.

Accordingly, all crusher plants in the district have been closed. Even though all the plants are closed now, the legal ones will be allowed to operate after verifying the legal and illegal plants. A committee has also been formed to monitor the crusher industry. An investigation and monitoring committee has also been formed under the coordination of Assistant Chief District Officer Sabitra Thapa.
The members of the monitoring committee will be District Coordination Officer, Crusher Entrepreneurs, Division Forest Office, Police Inspector of District Police Office, Armed Police Force, Survey Department, Division Road Office, District Administration Office, Nepal Electricity Authority and representatives of the local government concerned. The same committee will proceed with the investigation based on the documents. Dang has 12 stone crusher plants and 32 sand processing plants. But eight plants that have received processing permission are operating crushers.
