BAITADI, Feb 19: The air service, which was suspended for a month and a half, has resumed in Baitadi. The Dhangadhi-Baitadi-Dhangadhi flight was closed on December 31.
Summit Air's Liaison Person at Patan Airport Krishna Bhatta said the airline has been closed for a month and a half due to bad weather and lack of passengers. He said, "The air service could not be operated due to lack of passengers and unfavorable weather. It has come into operation after the weather improved."

Summit Air has been operating a flight from Baitadi to Dhangadhi on Friday. In the last one and a half months, the flight has been canceled due to rain and snow in the hilly region and foggy weather in Terai region.
As the weather is getting clearer, regular flights will be operated every Friday from now onwards. The air service was closed for a month due to bad weather last year too.
The Patan Airport in Baitadi was re-opened after 26 years in mid-October 2020. The construction work of the airport in Patan had started in 1975 and the air service started from 1978. However, the airport remained closed since 1994, citing lack of passengers after the district was connected to the road network.
