JUMLA, Nov 29: Member of Parliament (MP), Dilli Prasad Kafle, has blamed foreign support as the reason for the failure of Nepal's agriculture policy.

At an interaction on sustainable agriculture development organized by an NGO here, the lawmaker claimed that Nepal's agro development strategy has failed.

Lawmaker Kafle, who is also a member of Agriculture and Water Resource Committee, said he is the only individual to put forth a view for amendment of the agriculture development strategy and noted the government mechanism has become weak.

He accused the government of focusing on sending more human resources to foreign employment rather than using them in implementing the policies. The MP also stressed on dividing the land property at the Supper Agriculture Zone in Jumla Province no 6 for cultivation.

On the occasion, senior agriculture development official, Bharat Prasad Kandel, said the government has introduced a policy of establishing agriculture research organizations in every district where agriculture supper zones have been set up. RSS
