KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Agni Prasad Sapkota, a leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, has been proposed as the candidate for the new speaker of the House of Representatives.
Chairpersons of the NCP KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal agreed to field Sapkota as the party's candidate for the post of speaker, sources said on Sunday. A secretariat meeting of the ruling NCP, which is currently underway, is likely to make a formal decision to this effect.
