KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Dr Mukul Dhakal has said that "the Rabi Lamichhane Club" has no right to expel him from the party following the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)'s decision to expel him from even the general membership of the party.
Dhakal, who was also the General Secretary of the RSP, took to Facebook and also asked RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane to resign as an ordinary member of the party on moral grounds, following the judicial body’s decision to overturn the RSP’s action.

“I have just been expelled from the Rabi Lamichhane Club. The club does not have the authority to expel me from the RSP. After the judicial body overturned the club's decision, Rabi Lamichhane should resign from the party's general membership on moral grounds. While it may be unrealistic to expect morality from a morally-degraded person like Rabi Lamichhane, we will see just how degraded he is as time goes on, and time will prove it,” he wrote on Facebook.
He also stated that Lamichhane has been misleading the public regarding the cooperative scandal by spreading confusion and claiming that the evidence against him is fabricated while continuing his political activities.
Stating that Lamichhane is making a daring attempt to disrupt the judicial process, Dhakal said that the concerned authorities should take note.
The RSP’s Central Committee meeting held on Tuesday decided to expel Dhakal even from the position of an ordinary member of the party.
Earlier, Dhakal was unanimously removed from the posts of General Secretary, spokesperson, and central member of the party on the recommendation of the central disciplinary commission due to actions deemed contrary to the party's interests.
