KATHMANDU, Nov 21:Democratic Lawyers Association (DLA) has felicitated advocate Ananta Raj Luintel, who is also a legal advisor to Nepal Republic Media Pvt Ltd.
Recognizing his significant contributions to human rights, rule of law and good governance through his writings, the DLA felicitated Luitel on Tuesday.

Attorney General Basanta Ram Bhandari awarded Luitel with a purse of Rs 10,000 on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the organization.

During the function, Bhandari underlined the need of coordination between rights activists and lawyers in order to strengthen democracy and rule of law.

Former Speaker Daman Nath Dhunga warned that the democracy will turn inefficient if the judiciary and judges cannot work independently.
