Achham reps demand probe into deaths of teenage girls

The people’s representatives of Accham have drawn the attention of the home minister to the incident in which two teenage girls from Dhakari Rural Municipality-8, Achham, were found dead in a forest.

ACHHAM, Jan 27: The people’s representatives of Accham have drawn the attention of the home minister to the incident in which two teenage girls from Dhakari Rural Municipality-8, Achham, were found dead in a forest.


The bodies of Saraswati Khadka,15, and Ishara Khadka,14, were found in the Sunghar Community Forest in  Dhakari Rural Municipality-1 on Saturday evening. The people's representatives of Achham have drawn the attention of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak to investigate the incident.

This morning, former minister and MP of Achham-1, Sher Bahadur Kunwar, Achham-2 MP Pushpa Bahadur Shah, and Panchadewal Binayak Municipality Mayor Ambika Chalaune reached the minister's residence and drew his attention for a fair investigation into the incident.


Mayor Chalaune said that Home Minister Lekhak said that he had taken the incident seriously from the beginning. According to him, police have started a detailed investigation into the incident.


Similarly, the people's representatives of Achham had demanded that the government provide relief to the families of five people from Achham who had lost their lives in a train accident in India. They said that the government should be serious about such incidents, stating that workers from Nepal traveling to India for work should be insured.
