ACC Premier Cup: Nepal secures victory over Bhutan

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Nepal secured victory in the second consecutive match in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup Cricket by defeating Bhutan in a match that took place at Malaysia’s Biomass Oval.

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Nepal secured victory in the second consecutive match in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup Cricket by defeating Bhutan in a match that took place at Malaysia’s Biomass Oval.


Nepal chased down Bhutan’s target of 66 runs, winning by 8 wickets in just 11 overs and 5 balls. 


Sita Rana Magar scored 32 runs and Rubina Chhetri contributed 17 runs. Kabita Kunwar and Indu Berma also played the match, scoring 5 and 1 run,  respectively, before being dismissed.

Bhutan’s bowlers Anju Gurung and Anjuli Ghale took one wicket each.


In the first innings, Bhutan, batting after losing the toss, scored a total of 65 runs, incurring a loss of four wickets within the allotted 20 overs. 


Nawang Choden was the highest scorer for Bhutan with 25 runs, while captain Dichen Wangmo and Chingi Zangmo contributed 17 and 16 runs, respectively.


Nepal's bowling attack was led by Kabita Kunwar, Sita Ranamagar, Kabita Joshi and captain Indu Berma, each taking one wicket.


With this win, Nepal is now scheduled to face Maldives in the final group stage match being held on Tuesday. Nepal aims to maintain its winning streak and progress further in the tournament.
