KATHMANDU, April 26: The Judicial Council (JC) on Tuesday said that  copies of the academic certificates of all justices are safely in its keeping.

JC Spokesperson Nirmala Paudel said that the JC Secretariat is responsible for maintaining the personal archives of all justices, including copies of their citizenship certificates and academic certificates,  as per the Judicial Council Act 2073 BS.  The statement comes a day after a media report claiming that Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli has not furnished any copy of his SLC certificate. 

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Paudel asked all concerned not to be confused by media reports that have been  published without first contacting the JC Secretariat spokesperson, an information officer or other  JC officials concerned. She has also asked media  to contact the JC to verify information before publishing news reports.
