Shrestha who was absconding in banking crime case arrested

KATHMANDU, Police have arrested 65-year-old Mahendra Narayan Shrestha of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11, a fugitive defendant in a banking crime case.

KATHMANDU, Police have arrested 65-year-old Mahendra Narayan Shrestha of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11, a fugitive defendant in a banking crime case.


Shrestha, who has a permanent home in Dhankuta Municipality-6, was sentenced to four days imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1.448 million. Shrestha absconded after the court's decision.

Shrestha was arrested by a team of the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police from Bhaisepati in Lalitpur. According to the police, he was submitted to the district court of Lalitpur for the execution of the judgment and was sent to Nakkhu Jail in Lalitpur, as ordered by the court.
