Abdus Miya, who was to fight elections independently, joins UML

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Abdus Miya, who had announced that he will contest elections from Kathmandu Constituency No 6 independently, has entered the CPN-UML.

On Thursday, along with former Inspector General (IG) of Nepal Police Sarbendra Khanal, Abdus Miya joined the party at the UML office, Chyasal, in the presence of UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and other leaders.

Miya had earlier abandoned the Bibeksheel Sajha Party and announced his independent candidacy from Kathmandu Constituency No. 6.

Miya, who is 30 years old, started politics from the then Sajha Party led by Rabindra Mishra. Leaving the youth initiative as the chairman and joining the Sajha party, he was for some time in charge of the youth organization of the Bibeksheel Sajha Party
