SURKHET, March 15: Karnali province government is constructing 1000 small roads this year alone. The provincial government has been constructing roads in the settlements of Karnali to bring the citizens who are out of reach to the roads.

The provincial government has emphasized this as most of the citizens of Karnali are beyond the reach of the road, which is an important infrastructure for development. Karnali, the largest province in terms of geography, is under construction this year, with new and gradual construction of about 1,000 roads.

Bhim Bahadur Karki, Information Officer of the Ministry, said that after the provincial government decided not to make plans of less than 3 million rupees, this year there are more small projects and road construction plans than in the past.

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources has allocated eight billion rupees for the construction of physical infrastructure roads and bridges. There is a lack of manpower for building physical infrastructure. In seven out of ten districts, even now, there is a compulsion to work on the basis of instruments. In the ministry, which has 221 posts, 60% of technical manpower is vacant so far. Karki said that a request has been made to the Public Service Commission to fill the vacant posts.

According to him, there is a lack of manpower in most of the physical infrastructure construction works due to the lack of manpower according to the vacancies. Citizens have been complaining about the impact on the environment due to the fact that roads are built every year but cannot be upgraded.
