KATHMANDU, March 29: Bachelor-level students of Islington College organized a one-day event titled ‘A Day in Britain’ in Kathmandu on March 11, showcasing various aspects of the British culture and lifestyle.
The exhibition was part of a month-long intra-college event named ‘Aspire – 2017’ which consisted of business quiz, print and audio-visual ad making, stock trading, and business idea pitching, among others. ‘A Day in Britain’ was the concluding event.
It was aimed at instilling skills in the students that would to help them navigate various challenges they might face after entering professional life. “A total of 300 students participated in the month-long event. Seventy students had set up stalls showcasing several aspects of the British culture -- sports, food, festivals, history, music, and cinema”, said Nikhil Raj Shrestha, a final-year BBA student and the coordinator of the expo.
Approximately, 1,500 students, faculties, guardians and professionals visited the expo. “This has encouraged us to take such events to the national-level in following years”, said Dr. Dakshata Rana, Course Leader of the BBA Program at Islington College.
