Gandaki Province sees 40 new cases of COVID-19

POKHARA, Sept 4: As many as 40 more persons including seven Nepal Police personnel have been diagnosed with novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Gandaki Province.

Issuing a press statement on Friday morning, Pokhara-based Province Health Directorate stated that 40 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in six districts of the Province. According to Binod Bindu Sharma, the spokesperson for the directorate, Pokharal alone witnessed 16 new cases of coronavirus. Of the 16 persons who are infected with COVID-19, seven are policemen deployed in Pokhara.

According to Spokesperson Sharma, two persons from Tanahu, three from Lamjung and one each from Syangja and Baglung tested positive for COVID-19.

Likewise, 17 more persons from Nawalparasi were diagnosed with coronavirus.

"With this latest figure, the coronavirus tally in Gandaki Province has risen to 2,352," read the press statement.
