IN PICS: Few more glimpses of the Kathmandu Valley on the first day of lockdown

KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The three districts in the Kathmandu Valley, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, are currently under lockdown orders enforced by the district administrations from Wednesday midnight.

The lockdown order issued by the three district administrations in a bid to curb the further spread of COVID-19 in the Valley will remain into effect for a week.

Movements of people and vehicles except for emergencies have been restricted.

On the first day of the lockdown, streets and main chowks of the Kathmandu Valley wore a deserted look.

Large number of traffic police and security personnel have been mobilized for the effective implementation of the prohibitory orders.
