BIRGUNJ, Aug 19: Parsa district has reported two more COVID-19 related deaths and 112 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday.
The district administration in Parsa confirmed that two persons succumbed to novel coronavirus disease. An 84-year-old man from Birta of Bhiswa, Birgunj died while undergoing treatment at the Narayani Hospital in Birgunj on Tuesday. His throat swab was collected and sent for testing which came out positive last night.
Likewise, 57-year-old man from Bhiswa of Birgunj died at 3PM on Tuesday. He was an employee of Nepal Telecom. His throat swab was collected and sent for testing which came out positive for COVID-19.
As of today, Parsa district alone has reported 23 coronavirus-related deaths.
Meanwhile, Nayani Hospital in Birgunj said that throat swab of 117 persons came out positive for virus during test conducted at the hospital lab on Tuesday. Of them, 35 are females. Of the infected, 89 persons are from Bahudarmai Municipality in Parsa.
