KATHMANDU, Aug 12: As gold is traded at Rs 95,400 per tola (11.66 grams) on Wednesday, the price of gold has gone down by Rs 6,000 per tola in a single day.
This is the highest single day drop in gold price since the market resumed after the nationwide lockdown was imposed on March 24. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association of Nepal (FENEGOSIDA), the precious metal was priced at Rs 95,400 per tola on Wednesday, a decrease of Rs 6,199. It was traded for Rs 101,599 per tola on Tuesday.
The gold trade in the domestic market is almost zero as the price continues to skyrocket in line with the international pricing.
