KATHMANDU, Aug 1: President of Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, Sher Bahadur Deuba met the campaigners of “Enough is Enough” at Basantapur on Saturday, expressing solidarity with the campaign.
The campaigners have been staging protests at the Basantapur Durbar Square demanding implementation of the agreement reached with them by the government earlier on July 7.
The groups of independent youths have been staging protests in various cities across the country to exert pressure on the government for an effective response to the COVID-19 crisis.
After his meeting with the campaigners, Deuba urged the government to implement the agreement signed with the youths as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, NC lawmaker Krishna Prasad Sitaula said that the demands made by the youths are on behalf of all Nepali people and should be addressed at the earliest.
Earlier, on July 7, the government had reached an agreement with the campaigners to increase the scope of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test, uplifting the condition of quarantine facilities and better management of the COVID-19 crisis.
