Will the pandemic make online education shine? (Part II)

It’s a wait and watch situation for educational sectors due to COVID-19 pandemic. Though the government has lifted lockdown effective from July 21, nine service fields are still closed where educational institutes are one among them.

In this uncertain situation, educational institutes such as schools and colleges have taken the advantage of technology to let their students gain knowledge and get them engaged in some ways, when there is no school at all. However, due to various circumstances only few students are being able to utilize it fully.

Nevertheless, this pandemic has opened a scenario for alternative learning—online education. This has made most of the teachers and school management accustomed to the internet. Likewise, students too were able to take its advantage for learning purposes.

As a coin has its two sides, using the internet for education also has its cons. It is not possible for all the students to get the equipment and it became a costly affair for their parents.  Then, it is a hassle for the parents of small kids as they would not cooperate at home.

Private sector’s teachers didn’t get their full salary and had to accept nominal salary due to the effect of pandemic. Educational institutes are waiting for the directives from the government to run effectively.
